2018 Press Releases

03/2018

Dear Grower Partner,

We have made changes to our leadership team that better align our capabilities and, ultimately, will help us deliver even more healthy foods to more people. Therefore, I would like to share with you how we are aligning our structure.

Greg Holzman, a founder of Pacific Organic, and Allen Bernklau have parted ways with the company. Both have contributed to our business in many ways, leading to our successful evolution. We are ever grateful for the work they delivered to the company, and their direction and leadership.

·  Amy Rosenoff will assume the responsibilities of Greg Holzman, effective immediately. Amy has worked alongside Greg for over 17 years, is well versed in the business and has been handling the majority of its management for the last 5 years.

·  Steve Akagaki, also a founder of Pacific Organic, will remain with the company as a Sales Manager.

·  Francisco Battistini, Pacific Organic’s import commodity manager, will assume greater responsibility in grower relations.

·  We remain committed to the highest level of quality service for you, our customers and our vendors.

We are facing a time of great opportunity. What we have accomplished over the past 20 years is nothing short of amazing, and we know that by working together, we will continue to deliver on our shared ambitions.

We are excited about our people, and energized by our ability to change and grow. We look forward to the success that lies ahead. Thank you for all you do, and please join me in congratulating our new leadership and celebrating all that we have accomplished so far.

Sincerely,

Bill Schultz

San Francisco, CA — Summer has arrived and with it, the start to our Imported Peruvian citrus season! Pacific Organic Produce now offers organic Peruvian citrus. Our 2nd generation grower operates his family owned and operated farm in the Huaura river valley in Peru, known for its fertile soils. The farm began its transition to organic in 2004 and was certified organic in 2010.

The farm focuses on using natural predators to maintain fruit quality and keeps a keen eye on balancing sugar and acid for optimum flavor. Food safety is of utmost importance to the family and the farm is Global GAP certified. They are the first certified organic citrus shipper to export to the US and we’re proud to offer the fruit for now the 7th season – time to get excited for the only “off season”, certified organic, specialty citrus available in the US – Satsuma, Minneola & Murcotts.

A steady supply of 9kg Satsumas will be available July and August, followed by a steady supply of 15kg Minneola and 9kg Murcott in August and September. A poly film 12x2# bag is also available for consumer convenience. Summer is looking even better!
